How to Support Your Healing: Why Diet, Lifestyle and Stress Matter

Perhaps you know what it is like when a treatment has clearly done you good, with a doctor, a healer or in therapy, and a few weeks later the old condition is back. That is frustrating, and it has an understandable reason: healing does not only happen in the treatment, it also happens in your everyday life. Here I would like to share some thoughts on this with you.

Health is a precious good, and it encompasses all levels: spiritual, mental, emotional and physical. The English word for illness carries this beautifully, “dis-ease”, the absence of ease. The art of healing is to return to this ease.

It begins with vision and trust

If you believe in a creative power, you can pray at any time and ask for healing. Edgar Cayce said: “Why worry when you can pray?” Just as important is an inner vision for yourself: How do you want to feel, what do you want to be able to do again, and why? If you focus on prayer and vision at the beginning, the question of “how will I heal” is not so important in the first step, because the how will reveal itself over time. What matters is developing trust in your healing. The same applies when you pray for another person and see them in your mind’s eye as already healed.

Next comes compassion, for yourself and your situation or for the other person. Compassion also means looking at the problems honestly instead of looking away, because you can only change what you know about.

The three areas that carry your healing

Through self-reflection you can find out whether your diet, your lifestyle or stress and anxieties have contributed to your condition. You do not have to change everything at once; step by step is enough. And when you do this actively, you come into your own power regarding your health.

Diet: Look at what you take in every day, including the quality of your drinking water and the pollutants and environmental toxins you come into contact with. You can reduce meat, fish, eggs and dairy products (starting with cow’s milk), sugar and alcohol as well as smoking, and later leave them out entirely, to support your health.

Lifestyle: Bring your attention to your habits and return to the rhythm of nature. For example, go to bed regularly before 10 pm and get up at the same time every morning.

Stress and inner attitude: Reduce the stress factors in your life and develop a positive outlook. The spiritual view of your life means a life full of love and devotion, compassion, forgiveness and gratitude.

Why treatment results fade otherwise

We often go to doctors or healers, and the therapies work. But if you then do not change your eating and lifestyle habits and do not reduce your stress and anxieties, these successes are short-lived. This is why it is important to work on diet, lifestyle and stress at the same time while you are in treatment.

When you then decide on a form of therapy, whether with me or with someone else, it will most likely unfold more power than if you had not developed your diet, your habits, your calmness and your inner attitude alongside it. Healing is an interplay: the treatment gives the impulse, and your everyday life co-determines how deeply it can work.
